Senior Sellers Have a Specialist

Senior citizens are the fastest growing population of home buyers and sellers in the nation. Seniors are often faced with special challenges when it comes time to make a move. My belief is that you want to be the one to make the decision and have a say over where you go. Make the move while you are the one in control. We can help. We do the legwork, answer any questions and are careful to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of.

Where do I begin? Lots of us have an overwhelming amount of stuff. We offer a service that helps you sort out what you must have to keep your memories intact and shed the items that you’ve been meaning to get rid of for decades. Do you need to have work done to your home before you move? If so, you might want to take advantage of our “Wear and Tear Program”. We have trusted professionals who will come in and get the repairs done and will wait to get paid until thesale closes. They all work under our close supervision and guarantee their work. Just cleaning out the clutter, sprucing up the home, and rearranging furniture, could get thousands of dollars more for your home, and a quicker sale.

What are my financing options? Perhaps you plan on staying in your home for a few more years. In a time of low interest rates you may want to consider refinancing your home or perhaps even a reverse mortgage to pull out some cash. Itdoesn’t matter if you’re 80 years old you can still get a 30 year mortgage!

Should I move first? In my experience, when our clients have a place to go it is easier to move out, take what you want
and just leave the rest for us to either donate to a charity, or we have professionals who can help organize a sale. By
moving first, our clients feel secure in that they have a place to live and time to make sure they have their important items
with them. Worried about the cost of moving? Our “Movin’ On Fund” will pay to get you moved and make a couple of payments on the new place until the house sells.

How can I get some extra income?
Have you considered renting your home for extra income? If you want to hold onto your property to leave in your estate, taking out a small equity line and then renting your home to get extra income might be just the ticket. We have a Certified Property Manager on our staff who can review those options with you.

How about a retirement community? I have seen clients struggle with this decision. The comment I hear most often is “I wish I would have done it sooner.” Before making any life changing decisions, carefully weigh all of your options and seek answers that will help clarify what you do.

How can I get help? We are always willing to sit down and talk with you and your family, absolutely no obligation. Barb has a Senior Real Estate Specialist designation and we are pro-active in the community facilitating classes at senior centers, meeting with clients and their families who just need advice, offering programs at our lovely building in Everett and staying in touch with a large group of clients who are still “just thinking” about what to do next. Give us a call. We’d love to help!
